MAAP Unveils Cold-Weather Layers for the New Season

Melbourne outfit MAAP has rolled out its latest road apparel line-up, putting the focus firmly on layering as the mercury drops. The New Season Road collection brings a mix of fresh cold-weather kit alongside reworked versions of the brand’s core pieces, all pitched at riders who face unpredictable conditions on training rides and in competition.

Rather than a single standalone jacket or jersey, MAAP has built the range as an interlocking system, with each piece designed to work in combination with the others. The brand says the emphasis has been on balancing aerodynamic cut with genuine warmth and weatherproofing, so riders aren’t forced to choose between speed and comfort when the forecast turns unfavourable.

Updated staples within the collection have reportedly been tweaked based on rider feedback, with adjustments to fit and fabric aimed at improving thermoregulation across a range of temperatures and effort levels. The idea is that a rider can add or strip back layers as conditions shift mid-ride, without carrying excess bulk or overheating during harder efforts.

For UK riders, this kind of layering-focused release is particularly relevant. Our autumn and winter months rarely offer settled weather, and being caught out in kit that’s either too heavy or too thin can wreck a session or a race. A well-designed system that copes with drizzle, wind and sudden temperature drops without needing a full kit change could make a real difference for anyone maintaining base miles or racing through the colder rounds of the domestic calendar.

MAAP’s new pieces are available now through the brand’s usual retail channels, joining a growing market of performance-focused cold-weather ranges as apparel brands compete to solve the perennial British problem of dressing for four seasons in one ride.
