Hutchinson Rolls Into North America With New Distribution Deals

French tyre maker Hutchinson has confirmed a major expansion into North America, striking four separate distribution agreements to get its rubber onto shelves across the United States. The move brings the brand’s full catalogue – covering road, gravel, mountain bike and cargo tyres – to a market it has traditionally had little presence in.

Founded more than 130 years ago, Hutchinson has long been a fixture in European pelotons and on gravel start lines, but has lagged behind rivals when it came to visibility stateside. The new partnerships are designed to close that gap, giving American riders and retailers far easier access to tyres that have previously been harder to source outside Europe.

For UK riders, the news is a reminder of how competitive the tyre market has become as brands chase growth beyond their home territories. Hutchinson’s tubeless gravel and road tyres already have a loyal following on this side of the Channel, and a stronger foothold in North America should mean healthier sales volumes, continued investment in R&D, and potentially quicker turnaround on new compounds and constructions reaching British shops.

It also signals confidence in the gravel and cargo bike categories, both of which are growing steadily in the UK. A bigger, more secure Hutchinson with fresh revenue streams is generally good news for anyone currently running its Fusion, Touareg or Overide tyres, or considering them for next season’s gravel adventures.

No changes to UK distribution or pricing have been announced alongside this expansion, and Hutchinson’s European operations are expected to continue as normal.
