Hiplok secures Sports Nut as new German and Austrian distribution partner
Security specialist Hiplok has struck a new distribution deal with Sports Nut, handing the company responsibility for bringing its lock range to riders across Germany and Austria.
Sports Nut, which operates under the hostettler group, takes over stocking and supply duties in both territories, a move Hiplok says will sharpen its presence in two markets where bike theft remains a persistent worry for commuters and leisure riders alike.
The switch is expected to streamline availability of Hiplok’s gold-rated chains, D-locks and wearable lock designs through bike shops and retailers in the DACH region, with the brand keen to build on growing demand for portable, ride-friendly security as urban cycling numbers continue to climb.
For UK readers, the news is a reminder of how anti-theft gear has become as much a part of a rider’s kit list as a decent set of lights – and that manufacturers are increasingly investing in stronger distribution networks abroad to keep pace with cyclists who expect reliable security wherever they ride, whether that’s a daily commute or a weekend gravel outing on the continent.
