Columbus, the storied Italian tubing and components brand, has struck a new UK distribution deal with Ison Distribution, handing the Scottish firm responsibility for bringing its carbon range to British riders and retailers.
The agreement covers Columbus’s carbon components, including its forks, seatposts and handlebars, which have built a reputation among framebuilders and custom bike enthusiasts for pairing classic Italian engineering with modern materials. Ison, already a well-established name in UK cycling distribution with a broad stable of component and accessory brands, will now manage stock, logistics and dealer support for Columbus across the country.
Victor Luis, Chairman of Gruppo SRL, Columbus’s parent company, said the move reflected a search for a partner capable of representing the brand properly rather than simply shifting boxes. He described the tie-up as the start of a fresh chapter for Columbus in the UK market, emphasising the importance of trust alongside logistical capability.
For independent bike shops and framebuilders who’ve previously had to source Columbus carbon parts through smaller channels or direct import, the switch to an established UK distributor should mean quicker turnaround, more consistent stock levels and better after-sales support. Columbus’s tubing has long underpinned British steel-frame builders, so a smoother supply chain for its carbon components could open the door to more UK-made bikes speccing the brand from frame to finishing kit.
With gravel and endurance road builds increasingly mixing steel or titanium frames with carbon cockpits and seatposts, easier access to Columbus parts through Ison could prove timely for smaller UK brands looking to diversify their component choices without the hassle of importing directly from Italy.
