Bosch Teams Up With RideAble Now to Widen Access to Adaptive E-Bikes

Bosch eBike Systems has announced a new partnership with RideAble Now, a specialist organisation dedicated to making cycling more accessible for disabled riders. Under the agreement, Bosch will supply its drive units for use in adaptive bike builds and will also back RideAble Now’s Access Fund, a scheme designed to help riders who might otherwise struggle to afford specialist equipment.

RideAble Now works with individuals and community groups to source, adapt and fund bicycles tailored to a wide range of physical needs, from tricycles and handcycles to bikes with bespoke seating and control systems. By fitting Bosch motors to these builds, the charity hopes to make pedalling easier and rides more achievable for people with limited strength or mobility, opening up longer distances and more varied terrain than might otherwise be possible.

Financial support for the Access Fund is expected to directly reduce costs for applicants, with Bosch’s involvement providing both hardware and a degree of technical backing as the fund grows. Neither organisation has yet detailed the scale of funding or a timeline for the rollout, though further specifics are expected to follow as the partnership beds in.

For our readers, this sort of collaboration matters well beyond the industry press release. Adaptive cycling remains a small but rapidly developing corner of the sport, and reliable, well-supported e-assist systems are often the difference between a rider being able to join a club run or a gravel event and being left on the sidelines. As more manufacturers back accessibility schemes like this one, the hope is that adaptive riders will see wider choice, better-supported kit, and ultimately more opportunities to get out and race or ride alongside everyone else.
