FFWD Wheels Sets Up UK Warehouse in New Distribution Deal

Dutch wheel manufacturer Fast Forward Wheels (FFWD) has struck a new distribution agreement that will see its carbon wheelsets stocked and shipped directly from British soil for the first time. The brand has enlisted Adaptive DCS to run dedicated warehousing and logistics operations on its behalf, aiming to streamline the supply chain for UK retailers and riders alike.

Under the arrangement, Adaptive DCS will handle storage and order fulfilment domestically, cutting out the delays and costs traditionally associated with shipping wheels over from mainland Europe. FFWD says the move reflects its commitment to the UK market, promising quicker turnaround times for dealers restocking popular models and for riders awaiting replacement wheels or upgrades.

For competitive cyclists, faster access to equipment can matter more than it might seem. Wheelset failures, warranty replacements, or last-minute upgrades ahead of a key event often hinge on how quickly a brand can get stock into a rider’s hands. A UK-based distribution hub should, in theory, reduce the waiting game that has occasionally frustrated buyers reliant on continental shipping schedules, particularly amid ongoing post-Brexit customs friction that has slowed deliveries across the industry.

FFWD, known for its deep-section carbon wheels favoured by time triallists and road racers chasing aerodynamic gains, has built a loyal following among competitive riders in the UK despite lacking a formalised local presence until now. This latest step suggests the brand is keen to compete more directly with rivals who already offer swift domestic dispatch, potentially making FFWD wheels a more attractive option for those weighing up upgrades ahead of the new season.

Further details on which retailers will benefit first, or whether pricing will be affected by the new arrangement, have not yet been confirmed.
